Honoured Art Worker of the Ukrainian SSR. People Artist of the Ukrainian SSR. Laureate of USSR State Prize. Representative of Soviet impressionism school. He studied at the M.I. Kalinin Moscow Art and Industry College (1935-1941) and at the Surikov Moscow State Art Institute (1943-1950) under A.V. Lentulov and I.I. Chekmazov. His graduation work, Razin, was painted under the guidance of G.G. Riazhsky. First exhibited in 1953. Zakharov’s one-man shows were held in Leningrad and Simferopol in 1959, in Kiev in 1960, and in Moscow in 1965. He taught in the Simferopol Art School. The main theme of his work was landscape. His works are in Tretyakov State Gallery, State Russian Museum, in in the Simferopol Art Museum, the Alupka Palace Museum, and in the Novokuznetsk Soviet Fine Art Museum.

Vyacheslav Vasilevich Tokarev (1917 - ?). Born in Tula pr. in 1917. Studied at Ryazan Art College 1934-38; INSTITUTE OF PAINTING, SCULPTURE AND ARCHITECTURE/REPIN INSTITUTE 1939-48. Member of the USSR UNion of Artists. Merited Artist of Ukraine SSR. Active in Odessa, Ukraine. Began exhibitiong in 1948. Taught at Odessa Art College 1949-55. His paintings hang in numerous major museums of Russia, Ukraine and other CIS states.

In 1950s Victor Kotov happened to be at the famous artists’ residence “Akademichka”*, near Vyshny Volochyok. He met some very well established artists there including brothers Sergey and Alexey Tkachev, Andrey Tutunov, Sergey Tutunov and many others. Those encounters greatly influenced Kotov in his development as an artist. That trip was the turning point in his career and defined his future direction. Having spent time at the residence Victor Kotov acquired his own artistic voice. He became known for his landscapes of the areas around Moscow,Tver and Crimea. Kotov mastered live en plein air painting and celebrated all the seasons with his bright palette of colors. His style is varied: from lyrical landscapes to expressive works in a sharp manner. Victor Iosifovich Kotov was born into the family of a blacksmith in Tula in 1927. He went voluntarily to the front during the WWII in 1942, was wounded and sent to hospital. Upon his return to Tula, he started working in a factory as well as taking drawing classes. Since 1957 Viktor Kotov’s works were exhibited in numerous Regional, Republican, and All-Union exhibitions. In 1957 the artist took part in the exhibition devoted to the 40th anniversary of the Komsomol Organization. Six of his works were shown at the All-Union Exhibition of Seascape Painters in 1961. Kotov became a member of the Union of the Artists of the USSR in 1960. His first personal exhibition took place in the town of Podolsk in 1978. He was of the artists who worked on the monumental work “The Defense of Stalingrad”. His works are represented in the Podolsk Art Gallery and many Russian and foreign private collections.

Zhurakovsky Viktor Petrovich (29/05/1928 - 2001). Painter. Member of the Union of Artists.In 1955 he graduated from Odessa Art School. MB Grekov, where he studied under L. Muchnik, D. Frumina, M. Todorova, M. Mutselmahera.Since 1954 actively participated in republican and all-Union art exhibitions.Member of the National Union of Artists since 1960.The works are in the Odessa Art Museum, as well as in numerous private collections in Ukraine, Russia, USA, Japan, Canada, France and others.

Stepan Himochka was born in 1937 in a. Starokazachem Odessa area. Graduated from Odessa Art College. M.B. Grekov (1965). In 1963 he founded an art school in the city Berezovka Mykolaiv region. Then, successfully completed training at the Kiev Institute of Fine Arts - Faculty of monumental painting (1975). Member of USSR Union of Artists (1980) and Art Foundation. Exposed since 1960. Member of regional, zonal, national and foreign exhibitions. Starting from 1976 performed a number of large monumental project for Kiev, Smolensk, Togliatti, Chernobyl and other cities. Tiholuz David N. was born December 11, 1954 in Odessa. In 1970-1977 gg. studied at the picturesque pedagogical department OGHU them. Grekov (Krizhevsky SG). His main teacher was the uncle of the artist of the Odessa branch of the Art Fund of the USSR Zoellick Bluvberg. In 2008, the World Club of Odessa citizens took the first solo exhibition of the artist in the same year, the exhibition was held at the Museum of Western and Eastern Art (Odessa), which exhibited 88 paintings.
