Crimean artist. Landscape painter, master of thematic paintings and still life.
He was born July 13, 1925 in Kapkany village (near Kerch) in Crimean region. He attended the workshop of K.Bogaevskiy. During the Great Patriotic War he was a messenger in the partisan group. Since 1945 he worked in the art studio at the Feodosia art gallery n.a. Ivan Aivazovsky. His teacher was N.S.Barsamov. Since 1948 he became a participant of exhibitions, including republican (since 1952), all-Union (since 1953), as well as foreign (Hungary, Yugoslavia, Finland, Albania, France, USA, Japan, Spain, Canada, Italy) exhibitions. Since 1953 he became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. He was a member of the national board of the Union of Artists in 1963-1978. The first solo exhibition of artist was held in Kiev in 1963. Since 1969 he lives and works in Yalta. Since 1972 he is Honored Artist of Ukraine. Since 1985 he is National Artist of Ukraine. Stolyarenko worked in Paris in 1990-1995, periodically visited Belgium, Luxembourg, Monaco, Spain, Italy, Holland, Denmark. Artist awarded gold Medal "For the contribution to world culture" of International Fund "Cultural Heritage" (Russia) in 2010. His works are in museums in Ukraine, Russia and numerous foreign and domestic private collections.

Specialised in landscapes, thematic pictures.
Taught at Odessa Art College 1949-57.

Born in 1936 in Krivoi Rog, Ukraine. Graduated from the Odessa Fine Art College.
Took active part in the so called non-conformist exhibitions in the 1970s. Later participated in national and international exhibitions.
His works hang in the prestigious Odessa Art Museum and Gallery and in private collections worldwide.
Died in Odessa in 2000.

1992 – One of the founders of the creative association “Choven”.

1969 – Graduated from Leningrad Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinema (teachers: I. Kluge, I. Korotkov and V. Hovraleva).
1990 – Acknowledged to the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
1959-1960 – Worked as a make-up artist in the Odessa Opera and Ballet Theater.
1960-1965 – Worked as a make-up artist in the Odessa Music and Drama Theater.
1970-1981 – Taught at the Odessa Art School.
He lived and worked in Odessa.

Valentin Altanietz (1936 - 2000) - the "Magician of Light"
Born in 1936 in Krivoi Rog, Ukraine. Graduated from the Odessa Fine Art College.
Took active part in the so called non-conformist exhibitions in the 1970s. Later participated in national and international exhibitions.
His works hang in the prestigious Odessa Art Museum and Gallery and in private collections worldwide.
Died in Odessa in 2000.
1962 – Graduated from Odessa Art College.
1992 – One of the founders of the creative association “Choven”.
1993 – Acknowledged to the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
An active participant of Odessa nonconformist movement.
